Preparation for Chennai International Film Festival

The students of Vis.Com. Department, The New College to be volunteers for the 9th Chennai International Film Festival to be held between 14.12.2011 to 23.12.2011.

FANAA SEASON - II WINNERS-THE NEW COLLEGE.

MUSIC CD LAUNCH of காதலை காதலிக்கிறேன்

Our students were the Chief Guests at the launch of Music CD of the Film "KAADHALAI KAADHALIKKIREN" காதலை காதலிக்கிறேன் at the Prasad Lab on 26th August 2011.

Aravind, Inzamamuddin, Jalal Mazhar Baig and Safwan Ahamed were the Guest of Honour and received the first CDs from the producers of the movie.

INAUGURATION OF “PAA “ CLUB

PAA club of the Dept. of Visual Communication is launched at 03:30 p.m. on 26^th July 2011 at The New College by Ms. Suhasini Manirathnam, the famous Actress, TV Anchor, Cinematographer, Film Director and Producer. PAA is a student Club of the Department of Visual Communication. Dr. K. Altaff, Principal, The New College presided over the function. Ms. Suhasini was felicitated in the function.

In her inaugural speech of the PAA club Ms. Suhasini shared her experiences during her college days and advised the students on the technical aspects of film making. She wished the PAA club all success. Earlier she viewed some of the short films, documentaries and commercials taken by the students of the department. She also critically reviewed these and suggested improvisation.

The main activities of this club are to promote students imagination, creativity, learning with fun and research attitude. This club is started mainly to encourage Visual Communication students to explore their potentials in movie making, television and multimedia production. This club will facilitate them to participate in different competition in their field of study.

The main aim of this club is to extend students’ social service to the public during their course of study in the college. By involving every student in the activities of the club they can create awareness among the public on many social issues by producing short films, documentaries, public service advertisements, photo and painting exhibitions on a regular basis.

The student members of this club will not only propagate the social welfare messages but also participate in promoting the social cause in areas like tree planting, blood donation, eradication of tobacco and liquor use and drug abuse, upholding moral values, health and hygiene, educating the poor and the needy.
